SOON (Solana Optimistic Network) is a Layer 2 blockchain built on Solana's Virtual Machine that uses Optimistic Rollups and a decoupled SVM architecture to enable scalable, parallel transaction processing across multiple Layer 1 blockchains.
SOON introduces the Decoupled SVM, which separates transaction processing units (TPUs) from consensus mechanisms, allowing for horizontally scalable rollups that can be deployed on any Layer 1, enhancing throughput and reducing network congestion. The platform features the SOON Stack, including Solana Virtual Machine enhancements for parallel execution, and InterSOON to enable interoperability.
SOON’s modular architecture combines OP Stack for fraud proofing and bridging, with support for multiple Data Availability layers such as Celestia, EigenDA, and Avail, enabling users to select the optimal DA layer for security and efficiency. The network targets decentralized finance, NFT platforms, community governance, and toolchains for blockchain developers. Important projects on SOON include Portal Finance (lending), Raptor (liquidity protocol), and Alita (high-performance DEX).
