Nervos Network
[CKB]

Nervos Network is a blockchain platform that enhances scalability and interoperability, using CKB for secure smart contracts and value storage.

Nervos Network, also known as Common Knowledge Base (CKB), is an open-source, modular public blockchain designed to provide a secure, scalable, and interoperable infrastructure for decentralized applications (dApps) and digital asset management. It features a unique dual-layer architecture: a base layer (Layer 1) secured by a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus algorithm called NC-MAX, optimized from Bitcoin’s Nakamoto consensus, and Layer 2 solutions that enable scalability and flexibility. The base layer uses a generalized UTXO model (called the Cell model) and supports Turing-complete smart contracts via a RISC-V virtual machine.

Nervos CKB aims to enhance Bitcoin by serving as a Bitcoin Layer 2 solution through the "BTCKB" initiative, leveraging Bitcoin-isomorphic features that allow secure, trustless asset transfers between Bitcoin and CKB without bridges. It supports all cryptographic primitives, enabling interoperability with heterogeneous blockchains, sidechains, and Layer 2 networks. The network’s modular design separates state verification and generation, allowing it to scale to millions of transactions per second while maintaining decentralization and security.
