Marinade (MNDE) is a liquid staking protocol built on the Solana blockchain that enables users to stake their SOL tokens through an automated strategy. When users stake SOL, they receive “marinated SOL” (mSOL), a liquid staking derivative that represents their staked tokens plus accrued rewards. This allows users to continue participating in DeFi activities while earning staking rewards, contributing to the decentralization and security of the Solana network. Marinade’s automated validator selection distributes staked SOL across a diversified set of validators to optimize network health.
MNDE is the native governance token of the Marinade ecosystem, granting holders voting rights to influence protocol decisions such as fee structures, treasury management, and validator selection. Launched as a fair-launch token in November 2021 with no ICO, MNDE holders participate in on-chain DAO governance, including proposal submission and voting. The protocol emphasizes decentralization, non-custodial staking, and community-driven governance, with MNDE tokens also used to incentivize participation and secure the network.
