AltLayer is a protocol that enables users to launch fully functional Layer 2 rollup solutions within minutes, without coding.

AltLayer is a blockchain platform designed to simplify the creation and enhancement of Layer 2 rollups. With AltLayer, users can launch high-performing rollups in just minutes, without any programming knowledge. The platform also offers tools to improve existing rollups, addressing key issues like decentralized verification, sequencing, and faster finality.

One of AltLayer’s key products is Restaked Rollups, which tackles three major challenges: insufficient validators on Layer 2, slow finality times on Ethereum Layer 1, and reliance on centralized sequencers. Many rollups, especially those developed using SDKs like OP Stack, Arbitrum Orbit, and ZK Stack, are small and application-specific, leading to decentralized verification challenges due to a limited number of validators. AltLayer's tools help to secure these platforms by enhancing their validator network.

AltLayer also addresses the issue of Ethereum’s slow finality times, which can range from 13 to 20 minutes. This delay can be problematic for latency-sensitive applications like gaming or social media. Additionally, the platform offers decentralized sequencer network services, reducing the reliance on a single, centralized sequencer by using the EigenLayer Ethereum restaking protocol.

Beyond improving existing rollups, AltLayer allows for the rapid deployment of various rollup types through its Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) feature. This enables users to launch customized Layer 2 solutions in under five minutes, offering a streamlined and efficient approach to deploying decentralized applications.
