Sony’s Ethereum L2 Soneium plans a native token, $SONEIUM. There is no TGE date or tokenomics yet, and no word on whether past onchain activity will count toward a distribution.

With the token, the chain bets on tokenized IP. First up is Moriusa, a Tokyo character whose fans can back its expansion into merch, animated shorts and licensing.

Next come IP Vaults with royalty-backed assets, then Tokenized IP Bonds. The first bonds will carry concert royalties from K-pop label DayOneDream (BTOB, LEE CHAE YEON), a partner since September.

The pivot starts from a low base: Soneium’s TVL is $9.4M, down about 95% from its $203M peak in May 2025, even with 250+ apps on the network.
