Polygon adds Solana to Open Money Stack, targets $5T stablecoin market
Businesses can now use one integration to fund from bank accounts, move crypto across networks and pay customers and suppliers on both chains, after Polygon Labs expanded its Open Money Stack to Solana. The rollout comes with a single commercial relationship and all-in enterprise pricing.
Kira, which connects U.S. banking with stablecoins for cross-border businesses, is among the first customers using Solana inside the stack. The Solana addition follows recent Tron support and Polygon Labs' completed acquisition of Coinme, which gives the stack money transmission coverage across 48 U.S. states.
Polygon Chain has passed $3 trillion in cumulative stablecoin transfer volume, and the expansion opens access to Solana's $5 trillion stablecoin market.
The move positions Polygon as a multi-chain payments provider rather than a single-network one, competing for banks and fintechs that want stablecoin rails wherever their funds already sit.
