Luxor Technology raises $16M led by CMT Digital to expand into AI compute
Luxor built its business serving Bitcoin miners through its mining pool, hashrate marketplace and ASIC brokerage. The Seattle-based firm has now closed a $16M strategic round to grow its AI business, led by CMT Digital, the venture arm of Chicago's CMT Group.
Mining hardware makers Canaan and MicroBT joined the round, alongside Halo, Steelhead and a group of angel investors. The capital goes to three areas: Tenki Cloud, an agentic cloud platform, Luxor's AI hardware brokerage and its compute-derivatives desk.
Luxor has historically brokered more than $1B worth of ASIC hardware and added GPUs to its trading desk in December 2025.
The raise follows the launch of Luxor AI, a high-performance computing segment, on September 24. The company still runs an active Bitcoin mining pool at roughly 43.7 EH/s, and the backing from two of the largest ASIC makers points to miners hedging toward AI compute demand.
