Fireblocks denies reported $2.5B acquisition talks with Visa

Fireblocks was last valued at $8B in its January 2022 Series E, so a reported Visa deal at around $2.5B would have priced the crypto custody firm at less than a third of that mark. The talks were reportedly at a late stage.

The company pushed back the same day: "We are aware of the rumors about a possible acquisition of Fireblocks by Visa. This is news to us, and not true at present time." Visa said it does not comment on rumors or speculation.

Fireblocks, founded in 2018, runs a stablecoin payments network launched in September 2025 with more than 40 participants, including Circle, Bridge, Zerohash and Yellow Card.

Visa's stablecoin settlement volume has passed a $20B annualized run rate, up 15x year over year, while rival Mastercard closed its BVNK acquisition for up to $1.8B in August 2026.
