Hong Kong users of Crypto.com have been told by email that the exchange will stop serving them through its consumer app from February 1, 2027. The notice, sent by local operating entity Foris DAX HK Limited, cites regulatory changes and says all local services will be wound down in phases.

Foris DAX HK applied for a virtual asset trading platform (VATP) license in February 2024, and the application is still pending with the Securities and Futures Commission more than two and a half years later.

Affected users will need to withdraw their assets during the wind-down. The move leaves one of the largest global exchanges without a consumer app in Hong Kong while its license bid remains unresolved.
