Coinbase lists Ripple's $2.6B RLUSD stablecoin across its platforms
For years, Circle's USDC was the main stablecoin on Coinbase, later joined by PayPal's PYUSD and Open USD. Ripple's dollar token is now added to that lineup, with RLUSD going live across Coinbase's retail and institutional platforms starting Wednesday.
Clients can trade and manage RLUSD through Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange and the retail app, with 1:1 conversion from US dollars and other supported USD stablecoins. Deposits and withdrawals are supported on the XRP Ledger, Base and Ethereum, and Ripple will provide liquidity for RLUSD on Base.
RLUSD has passed $2.6B in market capitalization since its launch in December 2024.
Access for Coinbase Global Exchange customers, including the option to use RLUSD as collateral, is set to follow. The listing lands in the same week as Ripple's deal to bring RLUSD to Robinhood, widening the token's reach among US retail and institutional users.
