BNY adds XRP and RLUSD custody, eyes XRPL invoice finance with Ripple

Suppliers often wait 30, 60 or 90 days to get paid for goods they have already delivered. Ripple and BNY, the world's largest custodian bank, are exploring how to finance approved invoices on the XRP Ledger, moving part of supply-chain finance onto a public blockchain.

BNY's Digital Asset Custody platform now supports XRP and RLUSD, letting eligible institutional clients hold and transfer both assets. The bank is already the primary reserve custodian for RLUSD. The two companies are also studying direct RLUSD minting and redemption for BNY clients, with no launch date set.

In a parallel deal, working-capital platform C2FO plans to settle invoice financing in RLUSD on XRPL through its new Instant Pay service, cutting settlement from days to seconds. Invoice terms and due dates stay unchanged, and the tokenized trade finance pieces remain under development.

C2FO's Early Pay programs have facilitated more than $250 billion in working capital to date, none of it yet settled on XRPL.
