Bank-Backed Qivalis Clears Path to Euro Stablecoin
Qivalis got an e-money license from De Nederlandsche Bank, the Dutch central bank. The Amsterdam firm, backed by 37 European banks, can now issue a euro stablecoin under MiCA.
Issuance is planned within the next months, after Qivalis publishes its MiCA white paper. The token will run on a full-reserve model and reach users through banks, exchanges and payment providers, not directly. Qivalis was founded in September 2025, and Sir Howard Davies, former NatWest chairman, chairs its supervisory board.
Backers span 15 countries, including ING, BNP Paribas, BBVA, UniCredit and CaixaBank. The group more than tripled when 25 new banks joined.
