Aviva Investors tokenizes its £22B Sterling Liquidity Fund on XRP Ledger

Aviva Investors is taking its tokenization push into its largest portfolio. After a July launch for its USD Liquidity Fund, the asset management arm of UK insurer Aviva has opened an on-chain share class of its Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger, built together with Ripple.

Aviva seeded the new share class with £50M ($66M), lifting holdings across its two tokenized money market fund share classes above £86M ($116M).

The Ireland-domiciled UCITS fund uses a "digital twin" model: holdings are represented on-chain while the off-chain fund structure stays intact. Assets remain with custodian BNY, with Komainu and tokenization platform Licuido supporting the launch. Access is limited to eligible investors with digital wallets.

The tokenized class carries the same objective, risk profile, liquidity and regulatory protections as the conventional fund, first launched in 2002. The launch makes Aviva Investors one of the largest tokenized money market fund providers in Europe.
