Thailand to block Bitget from December 5 over unlicensed crypto trading

Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a criminal complaint against BG Limited, the operator of Bitget, alleging the exchange served Thai users without a digital asset business license.

The regulator asked the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to restrict access to Bitget's website, associated domains and mobile app starting December 5. Users holding assets on the platform were advised to act before the deadline.

Per the SEC, Bitget offered crypto trading between 2022 and 2025, charged fees and promoted its services via Thai-language websites and social media.

The case now goes to the Economic Crime Suppression Division for investigation, with prosecutors deciding on charges. The block relies on a 2025 decree that lets the ministry cut access to unlicensed crypto platforms. Bitget has not commented publicly.
