Speaking at the Plan B Forum in Lugano, Paolo Ardoino shared new figures on the scale of the stablecoin issuer's balance sheet and user base.

Tether owns roughly 150,000 BTC, counts more than 730 million users worldwide and adds about 30 million new wallets every quarter.

Its third-quarter reserve attestation shows about $122.8B held directly in U.S. Treasuries, or roughly $132.4B including repurchase agreements, with excess reserves of $7.95B.

Ardoino also outlined Tether's "Independence Stack", an open-source infrastructure push covering energy, bitcoin mining, peer-to-peer communication, self-custody wallets and local AI, designed to keep running even if Tether itself ceased to exist.
