Galaxy owners in the US no longer need a separate crypto app to hold dollars onchain: Samsung Wallet now supports buying, holding and sending USDC natively, with no wallet setup or private keys to manage.

At launch the feature covers 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the US.

Users can send USDC to external crypto wallets with no Samsung transfer fee, or pay out to bank accounts in more than 60 countries in local currency (fees apply there). Bastion runs the stablecoin accounts, Coinbase Prime Vault acts as sub-custodian, and Solana and Sui are among the supported networks.

USDC is the first supported stablecoin. Samsung lists in-store tap-to-pay with stablecoins and expansion to other markets as possible next steps, depending on local regulation.
