Physical Superintelligence Raises $58M Seed Led by Breakthrough Energy
Physical Superintelligence (PSI) raised a $58 million seed round led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, drawing an unusually broad syndicate that spans frontier-AI and crypto investors.
Backers include Nvidia, OpenAI, Oracle, Hugging Face, SoftBank, a16z's Scout Fund, JUMP Capital, Dragon Global, Robot Ventures, SV Angel, Susa, Solari and Valkyrie, alongside angels Balaji Srinivasan and Anthony Scaramucci.
Co-founded by CEO Matthew Pines, PSI is building an AI-native physics lab run by virtual physicists (its "Emmy" platform) that break research questions into testable hypotheses and simulate them at scale. Its first commercial target is data-center optimization.
The public-benefit company frames the raise as a bet on industrializing physics discovery, with longer-term ambitions ranging from new computing substrates to an AI-planned interstellar mission.
