Crypto exchange MEXC will stop serving users in Russia and Belarus, framing the move as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance global compliance.

Affected users will receive individual notifications with timelines for closing positions and withdrawing assets, and can withdraw as usual until their deadline. Accounts that did not get a notice are not affected. MEXC has not disclosed how many users are impacted or a general withdrawal date.

The exchange is separately winding down services in the Netherlands, citing regulatory developments in the European Economic Area. Dutch users are being offboarded in four batches, with the last required to act by Oct. 23, after which open futures positions will be closed automatically.

MEXC also warned users about phishing and impersonation attempts during the transition and said it will never ask for credentials, seed phrases or transfers through private messages.
