Manus Raises $500M+ After China Blocked Meta Deal
AI agent startup Manus raised over $500M in a round led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital, with Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund joining. Bloomberg put the valuation at $4B.
Meta agreed to buy Manus for about $2B in December 2025, but China’s National Development and Reform Commission unwound the deal in April amid worries about losing AI talent to the West. Manus, now based in Singapore, passed $100M in annual recurring revenue eight months after its March 2025 launch.
The money goes to hiring in China and abroad. Manus agents run tasks on their own, from building apps to Cue, which gives agents their own email, phone and wallets.
