Lisk Chain shuts down today as last Ethereum withdrawals await claims

The Lisk Ethereum layer 2 reaches its end on 2 November: the team confirmed today is the last day of Lisk Chain, and withdrawals still in progress have to be claimed on Ethereum once they are ready. A withdrawal is not complete until that final claim transaction is made.

Exits run through bridge.lisk.com on the standard L2 route: withdraw, submit a prove transaction about an hour later, then claim after a 7-day challenge period, around 8 days in total. Staked LSK required a penalty-free unlock and a 3-day wait first, while LSK already on Ethereum or on exchanges needs no action. Some projects from Lisk Chain are migrating to Celo.

Assets left on Lisk Chain after the shutdown cannot be recovered: there is no claim window or support route to restore them.

The closure lands days after Iron Fish, a privacy layer 1, ended all network support over a 2019 inflation bug that let an attacker spend the same shielded notes repeatedly and exit through the ChainPort bridge.
