Galaxy Digital has launched a Bitcoin Quantum Readiness Initiative to defend Bitcoin’s cryptography against the long-term threat posed by quantum computers.

The program pairs up to $5M in developer grants for post-quantum solutions with a Quantum Advisory Council, plus a research and publishing track run by Galaxy Research.

The concern: a powerful enough quantum computer could one day break the elliptic-curve signatures that secure Bitcoin wallets. Galaxy wants migration paths ready long before that risk turns real.
