Fomo acquired the technology, IP, and team of Mobula, an onchain data and trading-infrastructure platform, for $17M. The move brings a data stack Fomo already relied on fully in-house as the app scales.

Mobula's real-time APIs and security-enriched endpoints had been quietly powering core parts of Fomo, from its scam-detection to its social discovery features. With the deal, Mobula's engineering leadership joins Fomo, while Mobula itself continues to operate as an independent entity.

The acquisition lands during a sharp growth run: Fomo says its user base has more than doubled to over 1.9 million since early July, adding upward of 30,000 users a day, with monthly volume projected to climb from $500 million in June to roughly $2.8 billion in August.

Owning the data layer, rather than renting it, gives Fomo tighter control over the infrastructure behind its fastest-growing features.
