Stake across major proof-of-stake networks kept climbing in Q3 2026 while rewards fell, per the latest Bitwise staking report. Ethereum ended the quarter with more ETH securing it than at any point in its history.

Net inflows of 1.99M ETH pushed staked supply to 43.80M ETH, the sixth consecutive quarter of growth.

The staking yield slipped to 2.63% from 2.81%. Validator count dropped from about 1.1M to 881,000 as operators consolidated under the Pectra upgrade, with the same ETH behind fewer validator records.

The same pattern held elsewhere: Solana finished with 69% of supply staked at a 5.99% gross yield, down from 6.38%, while NEAR had 46% staked at 4.87%.
