Curve Finance goes live on Stellar in its first non-EVM deployment

Until now every Curve deployment ran on EVM networks. The stablecoin DEX is now live on Stellar mainnet with StableSwap, which lets users create pools without permission, swap assets and provide liquidity.

StableSwap is built for assets with closely linked prices, such as stablecoins pegged to the same currency and wrapped bitcoin tokens. Curve plans to add FXSwap, which handles assets that move against each other, once its audit is complete. No timeline was given.

Founder Michael Egorov said the move beyond EVM is partly driven by institutional demand, calling Stellar "closer to the familiar EVM world than many other chains." The network already hosts stablecoins and tokenized assets, including Franklin Templeton's tokenized money market fund, and MoneyGram uses it for transfers.

Curve currently holds around $1.27B in total value locked. Lending apps on Stellar could route liquidations through the new pools, but liquidity still has to grow and integrations have to follow.
