Chainlink partners with LG CNS to scale Korean won stablecoins
South Korea is finalizing its stablecoin rules, and LG CNS, the IT services arm of LG Group, has signed a strategic partnership with Chainlink to expand the utility and distribution of Korean won stablecoins.
The deal brings Chainlink's oracle, cross-chain and data orchestration infrastructure into LG CNS's digital asset platform for Korean institutions. The two companies will also work together on technical standards for oracles, interoperability and cross-chain connectivity in the local market.
Korea's digital asset market is valued at $68 billion, with more than 11 million eligible users.
LG CNS is the lead contractor for Project Hangang, the Bank of Korea's digital currency initiative, whose first phase involved about 80,000 customers across seven Korean banks. The partnership gives Chainlink a direct route into the infrastructure Korean banks and institutions are building for tokenized money.
