BitGo launches Global Markets unit built on 30 former NYDIG staff

Two months after buying NYDIG's institutional and trading business, BitGo has rolled out BitGo Global Markets, a single division for liquidity, execution, financing, derivatives and settlement. Former NYDIG executive Pete Janney will lead it.

About 30 employees joined BitGo with the NYDIG deal on Aug. 27, bringing experience in derivatives, financing, collateral servicing and structured products. BitGo Prime, the firm's institutional trading desk since 2020, now becomes part of the new unit.

The lineup covers spot and OTC trading via the Global Liquidity Layer, crypto-backed loans with collateral kept in qualified custody, plus options, swaps and custom structured products.

The division will also offer managed strategies, private funds and research, while the Go Network handles clearing and settlement. BTGO shares were up 3.4% pre-market on Wednesday after a 3.7% gain on Tuesday.
