Bain Capital led a $74M growth investment in RQD* Clearing, a cloud-native securities clearing and custody provider, with ABN AMRO Clearing Bank and Nyca Partners also joining.

The minority growth round funds RQD's expansion across North America, Asia and the Middle East and, notably for crypto, accelerates its build-out of custody infrastructure for digital assets and tokenization. CoinDesk framed the deal as Wall Street laying the plumbing for tokenized markets, where clearing and custody rails are a prerequisite for moving real-world assets on-chain at scale.

RQD says it has cleared roughly 515 million equity transactions worth nearly $2 trillion so far this year, about 2.4% of US National Market System equity trading. Bain joins an investor group that already includes ABN AMRO Clearing, Nyca Partners, Gentree Fund and Belvedere Strategic Capital.

For digital-asset markets, the raise signals that traditional post-trade infrastructure providers are positioning early for tokenized securities, where settlement and custody move on-chain and the line between TradFi clearing and crypto custody starts to blur.
