October 2026 saw 22 hacks over $500K, totaling about $6.45B lost. That is more than all of 2025 ($2.7B) and nearly 3x the first nine months of 2026 combined.

Binance's $6.3B hot wallet drain on the 29th made up 98% of it, over 4x the previous record Bybit hack. Second was up to $93M stolen through tampered Ledger devices sold by reseller CryptoBilis.

The other 20 incidents added up to about $60M, led by CoinDCX ($16M). Wallets linked to Nima Capital were drained twice for $5.8M, and another institution lost $2.84M to DPRK-linked SquidSquad.
