Base Azul Network Upgrade
Base Azul is the first major independent network upgrade targeting the mainnet on May 13, 2026. It activates multiproofs combining TEE and ZK provers — a key step toward Stage 2 decentralization — enabling withdrawals to Ethereum in as little as one day. The upgrade also consolidates onto a single high-performance client stack to accelerate the path to 1 gigagas/s throughput, and aligns with Ethereum's Osaka spec. An Immunefi audit competition runs from April 21 to May 4 with a $250K reward pool.
