Akash is voting to leave Cosmos for Solana: 97.9% yes so far, the vote closes Nov 2. ZetaChain voted for the same move in September. Sei went EVM-only, Noble left for its own EVM chain, and Nillion moved to Ethereum.

The reasons repeat: a sovereign chain is costly to run and secure, and liquidity sits on Solana and Ethereum.

On Oct 7, Osmosis flagged 41 Cosmos chains as dead in one sweep. ATOM is down 96% from its 2021 high, and TVL across ~44 Cosmos chains fell 73% in a year.

Not everyone is leaving: dYdX, Celestia, Injective and Babylon still build on Cosmos, and Cosmos Labs is pivoting to enterprise tokenization.
