CryptoDiffer team

Let`s start with introduction!

Q1: Tell us more about you?

Alicia Kao KuCoin Senior Partner

Hi everyone, glad to see you guys here. This is Alicia, Senior partner of KuCoin.

I’m in charge of KuCoin global VIP relations, includes institutions, 3rd party trading platform, and quantitative traders. Today I also got couple of VIP trials for new sign up traders, let me know if you want to enjoy trading fee discounts

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Hello everyone, Marjorie here.

I’m the co-founder of LUKSO;  I’m an entrepreneur with a background in architecture, brand development,  strategy, and innovation consultancy.

For the last 5 years I have been actively working in the Blockchain space.

Before starting LUKSO, I  built and led the EY’s Innovation Lab in Germany, where I got to work on several Business Implementation using Ethereum for large corporations; I also got to advise the IOTA Foundation (very early on) on a product developed and implemented within the automotive industry.

Melanie Mohr CEO at womprotocol.io & yeay.com

Hi everyone, I’m Melanie – the founder & CEO of social commerce platform yeay.com and the blockchain company womprotocol.io. Coming out of 20years in Media, Marketing and Mobile Tech. WOM Protocol is building a next gen blockchain leveraging MarTech solution.

Evelyn Mora Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week

Hello Everyone! I’m a consultant and the founder of HFW; I’m an entrepreneur and sustainability strategy expert working with private and public sector from governments to research institutes on communication and sustainability strategies. I have been working in the fashion space for the last 10 years and I find it an important and effective “tool” for communication and engagement. I know well the industry’s challenges and how technology and cross-industry collaboration is the only way towards finding solutions, and blockchain is key. My job is to identify problems and find solutions for them.  I have positioned myself somewhere in the middle of different fields and see my main mission as acting as a bridge and enabler with the main agenda to achieve the highest level of sustainability, in an interdisciplinary way.

CryptoDiffer team

Awesome, thank you everyone for introducing yourself!

now we can move on to 2nd question, which is:

Q2: What are the connections between female and crypto/blockchain?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

I can get started with that one.

I have been part of the blockchain space since 2013, going to meet-ups and conferences. In the early stages of the community, it was mostly developers.

By 2016-2017 it started going mainstream and we were seeing more people from different walks of life join the space.

As we move forward, and space continues to mature, we need to make sure that we create an inclusive and diverse industry. Teams with diversity in gender, cultural background, disciplines; it’s  proven to make better products, better solutions, faster growth, and adoption.

I think we all share the same vission and misson of making the tech space, and blockchain in particular as inclusive as possible.

Melanie Mohr CEO at womprotocol.io & yeay.com

Marjorie nailed it. And latest numbers additionally show that more women join also the crypto space. The first quarter of 2020 has shown a +40% increase in women in the industry.

Evelyn Mora Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week

Absolutely! I think the industry in general will look very different soon because blockchain can be applied in so many fields. It is an important tool in tackling challenges in different fields like fashion for example which is dominated by females. So get ready for female wave

Alicia Kao KuCoin Senior Partner

We could see that generally, the blockchain industry operates in a highly technical, male-dominated environment. We could barely see females involving in the blockchain world, If blockchain becomes mainstream, it’s inevitable for female crypto explorers into the realm.

So here comes LUKSO, a perfect way that to combine technology and lifestyle world, which also creates more opportunities to popularize the application of blockchain to female users.

As I’m working for an exchange, It’s definitely a good thing to see projects like LUKSO to bring more attractions from female users to the blockchain industry

CryptoDiffer team

This is very positive development! I assume this % will only grow in coming years!

Now let`s talk about Lukso!

Our 3rd question is addressed to founder of LUKSO

Q3: Can you give us a brief introduction to your project in front of our gracious attendees?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

LUKSO is a multiverse blockchain network where the worlds of fashion, gaming, design, and social media intersect. LUKSO allows developers and creatives to dictate the distribution of wealth and influence from lifestyle activities by having Universal Public Profiles, creating Digital Identities and Certificates, and building Tokenized Communities.

We target a whole new set of applications focused on fashion, gaming, creatives, and lifestyle use cases. We believe that every Blockchain functions like its own ecosystem and its value thrive innovation, and interoperability within this ecosystem.

LUKSO is a new Blockchain dedicated to the new digital lifestyle that we see coming.

Currently, most applications in Blockchain are around finance and business logic.

We will bring Blockchain to the masses by making this incredible technology exciting and usable for everyone.

Melanie Mohr CEO at womprotocol.io & yeay.com

I love LUKSO‘s approach of a dedicated blockchain for the new creative economies. There are shared feature needs and many synergies between dapps/projects leveraging it.

CryptoDiffer team

Q4: LUKSO seems closely related to the fashion industry? What is the connection here?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Yes, we do. We certainly have the most impressive advisory board (Evelyn Mora being one for them) in the connection between Fashion and Blockchain.

We see the digitization of fashion and the coming digital disruption as a perfect initial use cases for the LUKSO ecosystem.

We are well known in this industry, and some of our initial use cases will focus on digital and physical fashion.

But LUKSO goes beyond fashion! We are aiming to be the place where worlds of fashion, gaming, design, and social media collide.

Evelyn Mora Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week

Marjorie and I have been working together for a while now. I’m an advisor at LUKSO, and Marjorie and her team at LUKSO are supporting us in the process of digitalizing the visitors and the garments on Helsinki Fashion Week with LUKSO Blockchain. We too see the lifestyle aspect very strongly here and are already moving into that direction. Multidimensional future is here and thanks to LUKSO blockchain we get to be the first ones in making it happen!

CryptoDiffer team

Q5: What’s your insight about bringing blockchain technology to the lifestyle world?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

We want to empower the next generation of assets, which we believe will be consumer assets, living in this digital multiverse we are building.

LUKSO, will be the foundation for Digital collectibles, Virtual fashion, proof of Authenticity, Tokenization around Brands and Communities. All of this will all be powered by Universal public profiles that allow you to own, transact, and take your products across different virtual communities.

As @evelynm20  mentioned,we are working on a super exciting project with her and her team at Helsinki Fashion Week, which will include some of these components we are working on.

Evelyn Mora Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week

We at HFW are well known in the fashion industry for being the first and the most innovative and sustainable fashion week out there. We achieved this by emphasizing on our target audiences (Gen Z & Millenials) lifestyles!! We explained supply chain and sustainability through LIFESTYLE, Innovating, connecting, and inspiring and getting inspired by other industries are at the core of my mission with Fashion Week. The core idea is to solve problems by working together and using HFW as a platform to highlight the companies offering those solutions! I think the collab we have with Lukso will have a big impact to lifestyles of our target audiences

For example, we are creating digital identities for our attendees, like digital passports and the digital fashion of our selected designers will be connected to LUKSO Blockchain. You can image the impact this will make on the lifestyle of the new gen we are reaching. This is the first time any fashion week goes 100% digital in 3D and.

Alicia Kao KuCoin Senior Partner

In the lifestyle world, there are always the same issues, transparency, originality, and counterfeits. And as we know that the blockchain technology had the potential to tackle all the mess, for example, The use of blockchain technology combined with RFID chipped smart labels would make it possible to record and track the supply chain to solve the problem of counterfeiting.

I’m not the expert of it, but I believe that there are definitely always more benefits if we bring blockchain into the lifestyle world.

Melanie Mohr CEO at womprotocol.io & yeay.com

Fashion and social commerce is another angle that we want to tackle together with LUKSO. The WOM Protocol is scaling an entire ecosystem enabling monetization of word-of-mouth recommendations for brands, creators, and publishers. The WOM Protocol is live and being tested with more than 900 brands–including fashion / lifestyle brands like adidas–and platforms with a network of hundreds of thousands of creators and authenticators.

This is what LUKSO looks out for – helping industries with their solution that already deliver to the masses.

CryptoDiffer team

Q6: What is the LUKSO Blockchain? What are the differences and key features by comparing with the others? What was your motivation for creating LUKSO?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Well, these are like 3 questions in one

I will  to elaborate separately on all different aspects:

Technically speaking LUKSO is an HBBFT network with a smart contract delegated Proof of stake governance.

In its core it is  running an EVM, so it’s compatible with most smart contract tooling out there.

The throughput can easily be around ~500 tx/s, but the final test can be a lot higher, we will know once we have the HBBFT test-net running.

We currently have a PoA test-net running at https://l14.lukso.network.

And when it comes to the key features of LUKSO, we see 3 tools as the main building blocks – the core of facilitating mainstream adoption of blockchain technology.

With a proper internet-of-value we can hopefully effectively disrupt the Web 2.0 internet business model of data harvesting and unwanted ads!

The 3 building blocks are:

– Digital Certificates and Digital Identities: for physical and digital products, Think about this as NFTs 2.0. We have worked a lot with Fashion Brands to make their items truly unique and identifiable on the Blockchain.

– Universal Public Profiles: imagine your FB, IG, TW, and Google profile in one place. Owned by you and managed solely by you. These profiles are effectively the gateway to the “multiverse.”

– Community and Personal Tokenization, we think about this as “Cultural Currencies”, it is the ability to tokenize objective and subjective assets.

We have been working for the last 1,5 years on a set of applications and MVPs with our partners.

One of the things we are building is what we call a “Lifestyle Wallet”, to be released with our Mainnet launch in the Spring of 2021.

My partner Fabian has an incredible track record on Standards development (he authored ERC-20 andERC-725), and we are moving forward, by creating the next generation of truly interoperable and future-proof NFTs standards.

If you guys want to know more about LUKSO’s applications, please check our Whitepaper, we have 100 pages of use cases exploration within the Lifestyle world:
https://bit.ly/LUKSOWhitepaper

and finally, regarding my motivation: Blockchain has not yet touched the masses nor the creative industries, and it’s either too techie, complicated, or nerdy for most people. We want to change that and build an ecosystem for applications anyone can use. This mission we share with WOMprotocol.

We are building tools and applications that make it easier and more accessible for developers, regular users and creative producers to use the LUKSO Blockchain, on top of what the Ethereum community has already built Remember LUKSO uses the EVM, so all things from ethereum work on LUKSO as well.

Our goal is to make the Blockchain “invisible” and the applications incredibly beautiful.

Evelyn Mora Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week

I’m currently working on a new venture a global waste management market place, WASTED International, building on LUKSO, and continuing my work in sustainability and curving the overconsumption line. Giving the power back to the people. We will release the details of this venture in September 2020.

Melanie Mohr CEO at womprotocol.io & yeay.com

We at WOM are huge believers in a growing creative gig economy. Many people will earn their living with content creation and many small creative tasks.

The features that LUKSO is working on are so beneficial and needed for this!

CryptoDiffer team

Q7: Will fashion be the only main-stream to the blockchain application? If not, what are the other potential fields that could benefit from blockchain technology? How do you see the fashion industry adapting blockchain technology?

Evelyn Mora Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week

Fashion is slightly still sleeping when it comes to Blockchain but give it a month or two the industry will finally realise the importance and the impact of blockchain! There are so many challenges in the fashion industry that blockchain can cater to. It offers solutions that increase transparency, traceability and can even grow the value of the product…

In my work I work with chemical companies, ministries, tech companies and even media… I am obsessed with Gen Z and Millenials (also Alpha gen, who will not be the same after this pandemic). Our lifestyles have changed completely! And all the industries will have to adapt soon to the changes, needs and the demands of the consumers and blockchain is a tool that can help in that!

The biggest “trend” in fashion is sustainability right now. Consumers are demanding the fashion industry to change. Blockchain can help with many things, even branding and communication. Blockchain will make “eco labelling” so much easier and faster. Not to mention supply chains! Blockchain can put an end to greenwashing one of the biggest challenges of the fashion industry!

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

100% agree, so many of the current issues in the industry can and will be solved by technology. Blockchain will take a key role on that, at LUKSO we are staying slighty ahead of the curve, by proposing the standards and building the solutions we know will be releveant in the very near future.

Melanie Mohr CEO at womprotocol.io & yeay.com

So true especially Gen Z – teenagers are secret allies of crypto and blockchain.

There is the HUGE use case of digital fashion that LUKSO also caters to.

I see it already with my youngest 9 year old son. He cares what his avatar wears in the games he plays.

CryptoDiffer team

Thank you for these answers, very insightfull!

Q8: Why KuCoin choose LUKSO for the spotlight?

Alicia Kao KuCoin Senior Partner

The mission of KuCoin Spotlight is always to find out and push even more high-quality projects to the public. LUKSO has many advantages and innovations, such as being the first rICO project in the world(that’s only one of the coolest things of them). And  LUKSO maps physical commodities to virtual networks through “digital twin” technology and uses blockchain technology to bridge and ensure authenticity and uniqueness in virtual commodities. Plus, by configuring chips traceable on the network, the LUKSO blockchain allows physical commodities to be tracked, bringing a new virtual reality to the fashion and lifestyle industry.

CryptoDiffer team

The last question before we move to pre-selected questions from twitter is:

Q9: The connection and relationship between WOM and LUKSO, kindly sharing more ideas?

Melanie Mohr CEO at womprotocol.io & yeay.com

I know the LUKSO team since 1.5 years. We are all part of the great Berlin ecosystem. There is already a fab trusted relationship.

For me personally purpose driven infrastructure tech with shared communities to leverage makes so much sense.

Though we started off with Ethereum, we plan to test Lukso with WOM.

WOM is excited to see LUKSO’s event at KuCOin, as the two projects have been close since the beginning.

WOM protocol strongly considers moving its smart contracts to LUKSO at some  point, as we are both aligned in our vision for the future and building products that bring the blockchain to mainstream applications.

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

I’m personally a big fan of WOM, as I said before trully innovative and creative in everything they do. We are part of the Berlin community, and we are always looking for ways to collaboarte and support each other!

CryptoDiffer team

Now, we can move on to questions from twitter:

Cryptodiffer Community

Q1: “What is a Reversible ICO(rICO)?  What is the plan of LUKSO after rICO?”

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

What is the reversibel ICO?

In a normal ICO you give ETH and get tokens, in a rICO you RESERVE tokens and buy them over time.

The LUKSO rICO will be 22 days where anybody can go in and out (you do have to make a KYC for your address though) without buying.

After that you will buy over 8 months, always having the ability to return your “locked” tokens. And yes, you will see the full balance of all reserved tokens up front, but you can not move them – besides sending them back to the rICO).

Your balance will then gradually unlock. With your unlocked tokens you can do whatever you want

Cryptodiffer Community

Q2: “What are the main utilities of Lukso tokens ?

Can we use Lukso tokens as payment method?”

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

LYX can be used absolutely as a payment method.

LYX is the native token of the LUKSO Network, and its main functionallities are transaction fees and staking.

Cryptodiffer Community

Q3: Topic of the AMA: “Bringing Blockchain Technology to the Lifestyle World”

How will LUKSO able to achieve this?”

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

We have multi-tier strategy when it comes to creating traction and adaption. In the one hand we are building tools (as I described above) and standards, in order to power the ecosystem.

Our advisors, are supporting us bringing LUKSO into their respective  industries, by creating awareness and educating.

We see of course LUKSO in the protocol layer as the foundation of these. And our core components as the tools to enable developrs and creators to build and grow the ecosystem. It comes down to giving everyone the ability to have Universal Public Profiles, creating Digital Identities and Certificates, and building Tokenized Communities

Cryptodiffer Community

Q4: “STAKING” is one of the STRATEGIES to ATTRACT USERS and ACHIEVE MASS ADOPTION

Does your GREAT PROJECT have plan about Staking?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Regarding staking, LUKSO is planned to launch with HoneyBadger BFT consensus and a delegated proof of stake system.

Here anybody will be able to put themselves up for vote to become a block producer, or delegate their stake to an existing one.

The future LUKSO network will run on pure proof of stake. The final consensus algorithm for this is not chosen yet.

Cryptodiffer Community

Q5: I came across these two tickers of  LUKSO token “LYXe and LYX”:WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO AND WHAT ROLE WILL THEY PLAY IN THE ECOSYSTEM?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Super relevant question, also a very simple answer, but is important to make the distinction.

LYXe is the LYX, but on ethereum :).

LYX will be the native token of the LUKSO Blockchain.

When the LUKSO Blockchain launches there will be the migration process from LYXe to LYX.

They are 1:1 the same, but on different systems basically.

CryptoDiffer team

Thank you for such detailed and interesting answers!

What are your Targeted audience in particular & in which country you guys are focusing Currently?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Thank you @rinnguyen ! I’m also beyond trilled to have such an amazing lineup for these ama.

We are focusing on what we call creative economies (fashion, gaming, lifestyle)

Our audience! is EVERYONE, we want to bring the mainstream to use blockchain/LUKSO!

Cryptodiffer Community

Hello to the team! Tell us your opinion, how will the fashion industry benefit from blockchain technology?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

So many things, bringing the  transparency they desperately need. Traceability, proveance, and authenticity are the main ones, and all of these can be implemented NOW!!!

Lynn Hoang (2019), said the key to promoting the development of Blockchain lies in women. However, women account for less than 3% of the total population in blockchain, thereby making people see it as male-dominated tech firms. As a woman who strongly has passion for Blockchain and Fashion, I must say  with LUKSO my hope for the industry has been restored.

Q1. Now, may I know the steps LUKSO is currently taking in ensuring more Gender mainstreaming into the Blockchain industry?

Q2. What effort is LUKSO making in harnessing the potential of Blockchain technology to challenge some of the dominant trends in fashion today and perhaps even change future consumer behavior?

Thanks from a devoted and Passionate Female blockchain enthusiast!

Evelyn Mora Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week

The gender question has been a big topic lately in the fashion industry. As a fairly traditional industry it’s been able to blur the lines between female and male to some extent with all the unisex clothing, new gen being keen to not being identified based on their gender but their personalities. Fashion had to adapt to that. In the digital world and avatars for example being gender less is possible therefore with time it will make the tech field gender less too allowing more women to see the industry in a new light

So wonderful to read you @Abisola1

We have a big focus in hiring as many females as possible. We will create applications and solutions that are atractive for female users. I’m currenlty working on a small 101 guide to help onboard women to invest in Blockchain.

To your second part of the question, we are working on several solutions focusin on the fashion indsutry (around project authenticity and digital twins). We also have a storng focus in Digital Fashion, what we believ to be the next big disruption within the Fashion indudstry.

Is LUKSO beneficial for MODELING INDUSTRY?

Do you have plan to attract some models , beauty queens and make them LUKSO ambasaddors?

Evelyn Mora Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week

Great question! Absolutely!! The avatars are booming! It’s your visual digital self which LUKSO is powering with blockchain. We at HFW are working with a modelling agency where we are 3D scanning our models into cyberspace and HFW multiverses for the shows. So other than digitising real people, there are several growing digital talent agencies and modelling agencies out there, growing! We at Helsinki Fashion Week have already digitised some icons like Mickey Boardman, the editorial director of Paper Magazine. There is a good article about it on Vogue China :

We will be soon announcing more collabs on Instagram @helsinkifashionweekofficial

LUKSO is using the Ethereum platform instead of a private blockchain. But, as we know Ethereum Blockchain currently has many scalability issues! Then, Whats the main reason behind enroll Ethereum, not other blockchains?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Hey Mikurana, good question. LUKSO is its own Blockchain using Ethereum’s core technology ( EVM= etehreum virtual machine).

We decided to go for a public blockchain, because we belive this is the only way Blockchain tech can trully have an impact.

regding scalibnily, Ethereum is still today the most advanced Smart Contract Blockchain protocol outthere, at LUKSO we are contributing in research arounf Consensus algorithms.

Cryptodiffer Community

LUKSO is an ecosystem which can support many lifestyle industries such as fashion, gaming, design etc. so it may confuse for your potential customers and partners to find out which will be your main target. Could you tell us which are the priority products you are developing and what are the difficulties during that product development?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

we do have a very strong vision of the future, and we are in a mission to execute it. The solutions we are creating solve problems across all creative disciplines, and create new business models for many of them as well.

Youa re rigth it is a challange communicatons-wise, but we are seeing since several years a convergance in the creative disciplines, and this convergance is being mirrored in LUKSO’s strategy.

Cryptodiffer Community

Hello Miss  @evelynm20 And Miss @marjorieeli

Cryptodiffer Community

As an investor, I’m eager to know that after IEO on Kucoin, what are the next steps Lukso will do to grow the project and bring mass adoption to the Lifestyle world?

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Hey El Niño, after the IEO we will launch the worlds first rICO!

Our focus is in the core of our tech and build the tools that will empower creators and users. We work alot around standards developtment, SC interfaces and applications. Also this year we are doing alot of work our consensus algorithm, and getting everything ready for the spring/summer 2021

Cryptodiffer Community

Hello @LUKSO team

I hear that LUKSO team finally getting  regulatory approval within Germany, and  that was difficult challenge.

Another challenge i think its difficult too

How does the strategy from LUKSO team to introduce their blockchain technology for people in fashion, luxury, industry (your target audience ). As many of them still not familiar with this kind of blockchain technology

Thank you

Marjorie Hernandez Founder of LUKSO

Hey Doc, yes we did. We worked toghether with our lawyers and the german regulators to move forward with the rICO! and we came to a v ery succesfull outcome.

Also LYX was reviewed over a year ago so we have a pretty solid ground for us, our investors and community.
