GET AMA Recap

Get Protocol AMA Recap

CryptoDiffer team

We are glad to meet here

Sander Regtuijt(@sanderrrrrrrr), Business Developer of GET Protocol

and

Kasper Keunen (@kasperkeunen), Blockchain Developer of GET Protocol

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Hi guys! I am Kasper and I am a blockchain developer at GET. Excited to answer your questions here today. Bring it on!

Great to be here

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

Hi all! Sander Regtuijt here, business developer at GET Protocol. Pleasure to be here for one of my first AMAs! Looking forward to your questions, let’s go!

CryptoDiffer team

Can you introduce yourself to the community? What is your background and how did you join GET Protocol??

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

I have a background in computer science/physics. Started working for GET early 2017. I am a developer, till date we have given 130k people in Europe a blockchain wallet and sold over 300k tickets! Really excited about the adoption we are building.

That sums it up :).

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

Pleasure to digitally meet. My job as a business developer at GET Protocol mainly consists of answering e-mails from ticketing parties all around the globe. In all honesty most of the times their questions are something along the lines of: how can we do what you guys do at GET as soon as possible in my country as well?

CryptoDiffer team

Can you briefly describe what is GET Protocol in 3-5 sentences? What technology stands behind GET Protocol and why it’s better than the existing one?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

The GET Protocol offers a blockchain-based smart ticketing solution that can be used by everybody who needs to issue admission tickets in an honest and transparent way. Our tickets cannot be resold or scammed on the secondary market. This is great for populair events. We have a completely merged and anonymous primary and secondary market.

So our technology is better because organizers and artists have full control over their ticket. Making sure their fans do not get scammed or scalped (buying tickets too expensive for resellers). We are able to do that because our tickets are dynamic and bound to an identity. We use the blockchain for registration of the trade and processing payments.

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

GET Protocol allows for issuing truly digital tickets. Such tickets are something radically new in the whole ticketing space. With truly digital I mean tickets that can not be made tangible. Truly digital also means that you can fully control it. The first application of that control is preventing fraud and scalping. So far not even one ticket has been scalped!

CryptoDiffer team

What are the major milestones you have achieved so far?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Over the last year we sold 300 000 tickets to 130 000 mainstream users. We sell tickets for large and populair events.

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

One of the biggest events we facilitate ticketing for is for a guy we like to refer to as the Dutch Bruce Springsteen. If you;re not Dutch you won’t know him, but he’s big and sells out the Philips stadium, also home ground to PSV Eindhoven if you are into football https://twitter.com/GUTStickets/status/1189542399623794688

Cryptodiffer Community

Does your project already earn profit in the past 2 years? If yes, would you mind to tell us how?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Yes. We are already selling thousands of tickets per week. This generates revenue. Part of the funds earned with the sold tickets we conduct buybacks. You can check the recent buybacks here: https://get-protocol.io/buyback/

Due to this business we are already running we do not need ICO funds anymore to keep operational: https://medium.com/get-protocol/insight-financial-runway-of-the-organisation-4f979b2ef754

Cryptodiffer Community

What advantages of Get Protocol’s smart ticket solution over paper ticket and digital ticket that can make event owner choose it?

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

A truly digital ticket, in the sense that it can not be made tangible, is something completely new in the ticketing scene. A pdf file may be digital, but its rather a form of digital distribution of a tangible asset. Instead, GET Protocol issues truly digital tickets. Truly digital tickets give the control over tickets, even after it has been sold. Event organizers can dictate all the rules of ticket and its sale. You can capture the value of the secondary market for example.

Cryptodiffer Community

What are you most excited about with regards to the future growth of GET Protocol ?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Over the last two years we have improved and tested our product in Europe (mainly the Netherlands). Now we are confident to scale internationally. At the moment we are testing the application all over the world, with a main focus on Asia (Korea). In order to boost this we partnered with Klaytn. The largest tech company in the region.

https://medium.com/get-protocol/get-protocol-to-join-korean-klaytn-blockchain-platform-as-initial-service-partner-7240de56d975

This expansion is going to drive a lof of demand for service. Threrefor we are now investing in addition liquidity and have secured listing in Korea.

Cryptodiffer Community

Q1 How big is your addressable market and what are the future growth potentials?

Q2 In your opinion, where is the greatest value of GET? Who are GET partners now and in the future?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Q1 The ticketing market is huge. More than 30 billion worldwide. We are not directly competing with the existing companies however, the GET Protocol is a protocol layer. Meaning that ticketing companies can use our API and tools to make their ticketing smart. This approach allows us to scale fast.  We do not only do festivals and parties but also target business events, like this one: https://vimeo.com/246753242

Q2. Our token, GET, is fuel required to make a ticket trade or transition happen. Similar to Gas on the Ethereum blockchain. A key difference is that after GET is used it is permanently burned. Due to this, the total amount of GET available decreases every time a ticket is sold. This makes GET scarce pretty fast, this tool allows you to play around with this scarcity: https://get-protocol.io/token#scarcity

Cryptodiffer Community

Besides the Netherlands what other countries are you ticketing in? How many tickets will be sold aproximally next year and from how many ticketing companies + countries?

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

The initiator and first user of GET Protocol is GUTS Tickets. GUTS is a fully operational ticketing company based in Amsterdam. GUTS has facilitated ticketing mainly in the Netherlands, but also a few events around Europe. That said, some of our clients have an international outreach so our products have been on many places on this planet. Besides GUTS, the first big integrator is based in Korea. We recently partnered and we are now ramping on what Korea and Asia may bring in terms of interest and attention. As you may know, in Korea specifically, the Kpop scene is enormous and scalping is a big issue. We are positioned well to establish a foothold there in the near future.

Cryptodiffer Community

ICO of $GET is completed 2 years back, even you are listed in many Exchanges. But still liquidation is very low for $GET tokens! What’s your plans to make the liquidity more strong?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Yes this is true. Over the last 2 years we have mainly focussed on building the product. This in contrast to other crypto projects who have invested a lot of time and money into crypto marketing. Due to our focus on the product and tech, we now have a revenue generating business that can scale.

You are right liquidity is needed, but timing is everything. Now our product is mature we have decided to go forward and add listing and liquidity, you can expect GET to be listed on mayor (Korean) exchanges in the new year.

Cryptodiffer Community

What are the Key Road map milestones the team aims to achieve in the coming year?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Over the last 2 years we have perfected the product by testing it in Europe (mainly the Netherlands).

The focus for 2020 is international expansion. At the moment we are testing the product in Seoul. This partner is going to scale up their ticketing in 2020. This expansion will set the tone for the years to come. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtIRX8EUYwQ&t=7s

Cryptodiffer Community

What plans are made to add value to the GET Protocol? Because as an investor and early adopter, I find it difficult to access / assess this project in the short term.

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

For every ticket we sell GET is burned, this means that GET is becoming scarcer. This while we are selling more and more tickets every day. How this works is explained in this blog: https://medium.com/get-protocol/updated-buyback-token-economics-introducing-continuous-buybacks-92ef682f6825

Cryptodiffer Community

Can you talk more about your current biggest challenges and what is the strategy in place to deal with them?

What is the progress of business development and what are some of your commercial partnerships?

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

I am reached out by ticketing parties all around the world on a daily basis. The main challenge is to vet these parties. The goal of GET Protocol is to be the worldwide standard of digital admission rights and to get there we need to stay extremely lean and flexible in order to scale well. In that sense we need to be 100% convinced the parties we partner up in this phase have a very high potential of becoming a big player in their respective geographies. From the onboardings we currently experience, we learn to speed up onboarding processes upcoming year.

Cryptodiffer Community

Who do you see as your biggest competitor at the moment, and what do you think about your own project in comparison to those? Both positive and challenging things.

What are the three greatest challenges you see for GET Protocol’s future, and how can our open-source community take action to overcome those challenges?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Good question. We have no serious competition in the crypto space. Our biggest competition our large traditional ticketing companies as Ticketmaster. The challenge is that these companies are already very old and established.

We know we are able to disrupt them because both the fans and the artist are frustrated with  how they are treated. Several artists and organizers have joined us over the year: https://blog.guts.tickets/fueling-up-on-get-to-cure-50-000-no-coiners-on-a-casual-saturday-morning-885d909a25a5

Very soon we will announce the Korean artist that will join their ranks.

A sneak peak of who this artist will be is given in this blog: https://medium.com/get-protocol/update-october-19-%EC%8B%9C%EC%9E%91%EC%9D%B4%EB%8B%A4-ad942adf4c45

Cryptodiffer Community

Рow will your token holders benefit from the project’s achievement goals ?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Our tokens are burned for every ticket sold: https://get-protocol.io/token#scarcity

Cryptodiffer Community

What has the security, speed, and security with GET Protocol so far accomplished ?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

In 2017 we had serveral scaling problems on Ethereum. Once this caused problems during a sale, as explained in this blog: https://blog.guts.tickets/review-jochem-myjer-pilot-ii-its-not-all-sunshine-and-rainbows-d554dae7819d

Since then we have invested and researched succesfully scaling intensively. This has now resulted in a very fast side-chain solution, read more about it here: https://medium.com/get-protocol/stoolbox-a-love-story-of-two-it-fads-d8e42c936012

Cryptodiffer Community

Can you let us now some most important reasons why someone should invest in Get Protocol ?

Whats advantage in Counter Stake?

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

As always, please do your own due diligence. That said, in all honesty, we have won the ‘ticketing on blockchain’ race so far. Ticketing on blockchain, for reasons described in the blog below, makes a lot of sense and in a few years any ticket will be registrated on some kind of blockchain. We are well positioned to become that standard. On top of that, we have been acting under the radar for the last couple of years as we believe we rather build an awesome product that is proven and then climb out of our shell and yell, than the other way around. We are climbing out of our shell now.

https://blog.guts.tickets/faq-series-why-does-ticketing-need-a-blockchain-solution-c827d9c2554f

Cryptodiffer Community

I mean in Real Daily use Can We addopt Get Protocol?, So GET Basicly Can Be used with function not only as store of value asset…

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

People use GET every day. GUTS Tickets sells a lot of tickets (https://guts.tickets/)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gutstickets.wallet

https://apps.apple.com/app/guts-tickets/id1366257468

In total 130 000 people already have the GET wallet. The cool thing is, they do not know about it. That is how we think adoption should look like.

So to answer your question, we already have a lot of blockchain users! We are making it happen 🙂

Cryptodiffer Community

1 – It’s been 2 years of ICO but still the trade volume & liquidation is really low for $GET tokens! Why so & what are the solution for it? Does $GET is going to list in major exchanges to get more liquidation?

2 – $GET is working for best product since 2 years! Now comes the marketing part. How precisely & amazingly $GET planned the marketing strategies?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Great question.

Over the last 2 years, we have focussed on building the product so that we now have an actually working business that generated revenue from selling tickets.

It is very true we have not invested in crypto marketing or listing. But this is now changing. As we are now ready to scale internationally, we need liquidity on the market to fuel the usage of GET worldwide.

Therefore we have partnered with Klaytn (owned by Kakao who owns al lot of Korean companies, like Upbit and more).  The majority of our growth is expected to be in Asia in the near future. Hence we will acquire listing in that region in beginning of next year.

Cryptodiffer Community

What critical problems do you see occurring in the blockchain industry nowadays? How does GET aim to solve these problems?

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

In my opinion many blockchain companies don’t have a usecase and are frantically looking for one. We did it the other way around: we saw a solution for ticket fraud and scalping by registering ticketing on a blockchain to prove authenticity and ownership of a ticket. We built a ticketing system and implement more and more blockchain into whenever that is possible and makes sense instead of the other way around. To answer your question: this problem is actually also the answer in the sense that the companies that had the unclear ideas and visions will slowly have to leave as there is no money left. The ones with the usecases, adding value in the real world, will survive. We have no reason to believe we won’t survive.

Cryptodiffer Community

Q: We are witnessing many projects enter blockchain industry with very good plans, promise to do good work but disappear in time and lose community.

So without not lose believers, how can #Getprotocol   survive this long and challenging blockchain ?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

As we have a operational business, selling thousands of tickets and generating revenue. We do not need ‘the blockchain industry’ to thrive or grow. Our product, adds value on its own. Due to this we are already projected to print black numbers. This blog explain more about how that works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHb9guAtSJg

Cryptodiffer Community

What is Stoolbox? Can the token value GET from it? maybe all do not know about this please explain in detail

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Great question. Stoolbox is our scaling solution. It is essentially a side chain for every event we host. Each ticket lives on that side chain and is traded there. As soon as the event is over (and the ticket is scanned) we close the loop by registering the final hash of the ticket back to the blockchain. This closes the loop and makes the ticket immutable and the process transparent. We can process more than 50 000 tickets per hour (this is the record at least, could probably do more). More details are explained here: https://medium.com/get-protocol/stoolbox-a-love-story-of-two-it-fads-d8e42c936012

The state hashes are registered on Ethereum as you can see here: https://etherscan.io/address/0x4cd90231a36ba78a253527067f8a0a87a80d60e4#events

Cryptodiffer Community

Q1. How is GET Protocol different from other projects in the crypto space?

Q.2. What are your short-term goals and what are your plans to achieve these goals?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Q1) We are fully operational and do not need crypto investment to be profitable. Our clients are ticketing companies and artists, that During Amsterdam Dance event we ticketed a lot of events; https://medium.com/get-protocol/a-recap-of-our-first-amsterdam-dance-event-af98bd7a2e0d

Not a lot of crypto projects can say they onboard that much new people with their technology.

Cryptodiffer Community

If i am is investor from GET Protocol, you know that i am only focus on the price of GET token in short term instead of real value of project. Can you tell me the motivation and benefits for investors to GET long term?

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

We know, both. Some people are in it for the short term, others for the longer term. I think right now our community consists of many people who are in it for the long term, which we love and are thankful for. They have been with us from the beginning and other stumbled upon us and still stick with us. I’d advise you to check our community on Telegram which is full of very critical people that can discuss all kinds of matters, always. On the shorter term, it is interesting that until now we have been mainly focused on developing our product and testing and proving it in the Netherlands. We are now reaching out to other parts of the world, starting in Korea. This is really fresh and we believe this will have a big impact.

Also check our tokenomics blog!

https://medium.com/get-protocol/the-get-protocol-token-economics-c5d2f4614402

Cryptodiffer Community

I think liquidation more important so when it will strong what kind of working on liquidity?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Liquidity is very important but everything has the right timing. Over the last 2 years it made very little sense for us to invest in liquidity as we where not ready yet to provide the demand support needed. Now our product and tech is mature, we do need the liquidity. So what this means is the following:

– Selling tickets worldwide, you can expect a lot of growth coming out of Seoul next year :).

– Listing on a mayor exchange, mainly to facilitate Korean market as we are going to do be very active in that community.

Also, very each ticket we sell or process, GET is bought back. You can track this here: https://get-protocol.io/buyback/

Cryptodiffer Community

How will you plan to dominate market ? Will GET Protocol lead to mass adoption ?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

How does mass adoption look? Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b17jHf0sJNg

You tell me.

Cryptodiffer Community

What use cases or challenges are you trying to solve?

What is the next goal of GET?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

We solve fake and too expensive sold tickets! Our tickes are locked to your phone and you can only trade them on our platform (anonymously).

Cryptodiffer Community

Q1: What killer features has GET Protocol  that are ahead of the competition from other projects and how does fetchintend to open up the project and product to the community, reasearchers and enthusiasts, So no one will stop this and it continuously improved on ?

Q2: What role do you think GET Protocol  will play in making blockchain highly adaptable in the worldwide stage?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Q1: Our killer feature is that of the 300 000 tickets we have sold ZERO have been resold on the secondary market. This solves a huge problem for artists as this happens a lot. Due to this feature we have a lot of supports in the scene, this is a video of one of the largest Dutch tv shows: https://vimeo.com/258953277

Cryptodiffer Community

How can GET Protocol provide security to users data ? And how do you overcome the threat of decentralization in your project ?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Our applications (IOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/guts-tickets/id1366257468 and Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gutstickets.wallet) are centralized. This allows us to control the user experience. We only use the blockchain for transparency and asset transfer. This makes the concept very defendable from a business standpoint.

Cryptodiffer Community

Guess I’m a event organizer and I do numbers of events. How $GET_PROTOCOL makes the ticketing solution more easy for me? How it handles the supply & demand both sustainable?

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

There is no other option for us to go about it than to make it extremely easy to integrate and work with. We have some awesome developers (again, please just check it yourself as of course I will say everything is hosanna) that are experienced in making complex stuff easy to work with. Btw, on a slightly different note, but at GUTS, the initiator and shopping window of GET Protocol, we created a demo environment. You can try it yourself here: https://guts.tickets/demo/ Hopefully it will give you an idea of how our products are always built with the end-user in mind.

Cryptodiffer Community

Explain more about your relationship with KLAYTN and tell us more about GUTS TICKETS

Double ticketing occurs most often and what’s your measure to combat this often called SYBIL ATTACK??

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

We are indeed one of the first partners of Klaytn. This partner we have chosen because they are very well connected in Korea. This is important for us as we are expanding extensively in this region. As we speark we are testing in Seoul.

Klaytn will provide us with the access to the Asian markets. Including making sure GET is available for our clients there.

https://www.coindesk.com/binance-joins-governance-council-of-kakaos-klaytn-blockchain

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/klaytn-debuts-its-initial-listing-on-upbit-300911395.html

So this is very exciting for us!

Cryptodiffer Community

What role do you think GET Protocol will play in making blockchain highly adaptable in the worldwide stage?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Well the great thing is, we already are doing that. You can try it for yourself, get your first smart ticket here: https://guts.events/u5fcf3-eating-pudding-for-proof/qiwdfp/

It is free! I highly recommend also installing the wallet.

Cryptodiffer Community

How safe is Get Protocol? Is it enough to make users safe, reduce the risk of losing money and personal information?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Our token secures the protocol by being a gatekeeper. This allows us to let our ticket holders trade tickets freely, while still ensuring nobody is scammed. This is a big benefit of blockchain, that it is easy to track assets and check validity.

Cryptodiffer Community

Why should investors buy and hold GET tokens ? What would be the long term benefits of holding GET TOKENS ?

What the steps taken by the GET Protocol to get into new the markets?

Kasper Keunen
Blockchain Developer

Q1: We burn GET for every ticket we sell, this makes GET scarce.

Q2: In 2020 we will acquire listing on a Korean exchange. I am very sure you have heard about it.

If you do not like reading, make sure to check out our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXUV5omgPetqcZhDy1d9TvA/videos

We have a lot of videos explaining what we do and why we do it.

We write a lot of blogs, so for those that do like reading.. dig in here: https://medium.com/get-protocol 🙂

And if you do not join us on our Telegram, maybe we’ll see you guys during a festival in Amsterdam? We sell tickets for those as well: https://vimeo.com/222344559

Sander Regtuijt
Business Developer

To be honest, our core business is in ticketing and ticketing only. Blockchain tech is a means to and end. I consider ourselves as ticketing company that using blockcain tech rather than a blockchain company that’s in ticketing. I believe that’s also what distinguishes us from the rest and on the other side and, unfortunately, also brought us less attention in the blockchain space than may should have get. However, we are about to change that. After all, its 6PM on a Friday night here in Amsterdam and im doing this AMA! To answer you question, as we need to stay flexible we are not fixed on any kind of blockchain technology. That’s why we built GET Protocol in a blockchain agnostic manner. Actually I think that’s a pretty nice contribution to the whole blockchain space in itself, with our friends from Statebox. Read more about here! https://medium.com/get-protocol/get-statebox-scalable-blockchain-tickets-for-the-masses-3dae7bf1ce5d
